Trucking Company “Go Team”

Large trucking companies are involved in accidents caused by their drivers on a regular basis.  As a result, many of these truck companies have created a “go team” that is responsible for getting to a crash scene as quickly as possible and taking actions that will be in the best interests of the truck company and its drivers.

The “go team” typically includes:

  • Defense attorneys;
  • An accident reconstructionist;
  • An investigator;
  • A photographer;
  • The trucking company’s Safety Director; and
  • Whatever type of specialty expert is needed.

The “go team” is not interested in finding fault for the cause of the accident, except to the extent that fault may be with some person or entity other than the truck company or its drivers.

The truck company “go team” will often want to take possession of the truck and other evidence and to prevent our firm from obtaining this evidence.  In many cases, the truck will contain evidence critical to proving a case and injured victim’s case.  As a result, we need to secure this evidence and to prevent it from being ruined or compromised.

Black boxes will provide evidence about the speed at the time of the accident.  The tires themselves will be important in the case of a tire defect.  Other accident evidence – such as skid marks – is important in establishing fault, and thus should not be cleaned until a thorough investigation has been completed.

Black box evidence, however, can be wiped out if the electrical systems are disconnected after an accident.  Tires may be shipped to a disposal yard, and thus lost forever.  They may also be stored in outside, and thus deteriorate.

You Need a “Go Team” to Protect Your Interests

When an accident happens, we need to get working as soon as possible so that we can best protect your interests and help you succeed in winning your case.  We need to investigate the accident scene before conditions change.  We need to secure evidence before it is lost.  We need to start a thorough investigation of the truck driver, the truck company, and all potential accident causes.

Please call me to find out how we will help injured clients recover the damages that they deserve.  We will meet with you at your convenience to learn about your case.  If your hire our firm, there are no fees that are owed to us unless and until we recover for you.
